Noise

Post by Doogal28 » Wed Nov 20, 2013 7:30 pm

Hi , I've a 2004 4.4i sport , had it around 2 months and done around 1500 miles trouble free , however , I've started to notice a click / rattle at time when pulling away with the steering turned . It only makes two or three clicks then goes quiet once moving . No noise at all straight ahead no matter how hard i boot it . Makes the noise when turning without power on, just coasting . It doesn't do it all the time . The car had the outer cv boots replaced in 2012 according to the servicing invoiced i have . I was wondering if its a cv joint on its way out . Any advice would be appreciated . Car has done 65k miles

As I say it's not doing it all the time , appears to be on certain cambers and varying amounts of wheel lock

Apart from this love the motor , pulls like a train and sounds superb

They fit all E53's. I've fitted them to my 4.8 too.

Just fitted one of the shafts from ebay to the passenger side front , very straight forward . Only had to drop the control arm off subframe and got enough movement on the hub assembly to get the shaft out of the hub . Left brake caliper etc all on. Impact gun got the centre 36mm nut off in a flash . All told just over an hour from start to finish . The noise has now gone so only doing this one for now .

Cheers
