Tv in motion with bmw scanner

Post by J8NWK » Tue Nov 26, 2013 10:44 am

Morning guys.

Ok so my scanner arrived from eBay and much to my surprise I've got it working ! On windows xp and got the drivers right ! Highly unlike me !

Anyway, can anyone tell me how to go about activating a few things now, mainly tv in motion but also locking etc... I did a search to see if I could find a guide but couldn't.

I found a tv function menu that showed hide when moving or show when moving but it didn't seem to alter it ? It mentioned something about powering down for it to take effect but turning it off and on didn't change it either ? Thoughts ?

Thanks !

Ok I've got the tv working. Had to leave the car closed for a few minutes for it to power down and now it works spot on ! Got lights and chirp for locking and unlocking now as well.

What else is there worth altering ?

I've got the auto-lock security door feature activated on mine, car locks doors automatically from 15 KPH .

I will also enable to BFD feature if it's available on my car at some stage and also double-blink hazards .

BFD is Brake Force Display . The brake lights can be programmed to do different things depending on the
severity of the braking . Under normal braking , the normal brakes come on . Under slightly heavier braking
the fog lights also come on as brake lights . Under very heavy braking the brake lights flash as well as light
up in the highest setting .

Double blink hazards , they flash twice in the same time as they wud normal flash once , so in effect they
pulse quickly in similar manner to Police lights .

Ah now that's a good question , coz I haven't got round to doing it yet , but if you do a search of YouTube there are instructions on how to do it with NCS Expert , so you might find it with Scanner too .

Managed to activate my aux heater today with the scanner.
It's slightly tricky so let me know if you want the step by step...
Don't think it's ever been used.
Hopefully I won't walk out to an inferno tomorrow morning!

How did this work?  My scanner arrived today so looking forward this weekend to hooking my X up to it.  Aux heater would be good as the temperature has dropped...
