I was getting the same calcs and couldn't work out how he was running 60mm but its probably 30 each side as you guess.

And 60mm in each side - this is really a lot, think this could potentially put too much stretch on bearings etc.
I hope we can get this clarified

Thanks

When quoting spacers they always show as total track, so yes 60mm will be 30mm per side, 50mm will be 25mm per side, etc.

Be interested to hear how you got on with the winters on it.

On winters it should be surprising sure footed.

A couple of mates run winters on their M5's and they have been excellent in the snow, etc.

When looking at US forums, they mainly shows per side i.e. 15mm, 25mm etc

As individuals (and hence on forums), we do tend to quite per side as it's easier to explain but most manufacturer/trader websites do more often than not quote total track.

Excactely.
Manufacturers (like H&R) shows total extension. This is also why I have asked Ashway for confirmation whether the named 60mm is per side (as he is an individual) or total.

I think the M3 will be fine with winters on too & I've found with it having a LSD on it aswell makes all the difference also in comparison to an open diff.

Sorry guys been away for the weekend without forum access.

yep the 60mm refers to total axle i.e. 30mm per side.

The normal summer wheels are the 333M shown on the attached

http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bmw_al ... e70_alloys

use the ET measurements for your existing wheel compared to those of the winter wheel to calculate the spacer size
