Eaglesrest getting 8% is a decent result especially if they aren't hiding it by reducing your part-ex.

What spec are you going for and can I ask what dealer that is. I have come close to placing an order and had long discussions with the sales staff. Lots of no discount on a new model chat but they have relented a bit, they are generally ok to copy another dealer though so the info would be great.

I agree with all that the looks aren't wonderful but I also hated the E70 when it came out, might be because I had an E53 then. Now had the E70 3 years and think it looks fantastic. The drive of the F15 is brilliant although my E70 is also very smooth as it has the £2500 adaptive drive option.

I have an F11 auto, just passed 3 years old. First car I've kept longer than 2 years - it fits me like a glove, with comfort seats and active cruise. Would like, but not need, more space, elevated driving position, and better traction in snow as we live on a hill and got stuck a few times even with winter tyres on. The 7 seats will be of big benefit too.

The 8% is across all options and VAT, but not the service plan. I basically worked out the spec on BMW configurator and they removed 8% from the total. For part-ex I used which magazines CAP valuation tool which accounts for options, and they beat the trade-in price. I'll PM dealer details.

Sounds a great spec there.

535d do you have any good dealer contacts who will discount a new X5, what level of discount are they going to for your mate?

Is access to the Which magazine tool free or how do you access it, I paid for a premium Glasses valuation which my dealer are basically laughing at and saying it can never be done.

Glasses was £1k higher than CAP, which is what I think the trade uses. Which requires a signed up membership but they usually have a free one month trial for a £1.

I agree with pvr......the E53 is the best looker of the three generations of X5' in the same way the E46 version of the 3 series convertible (330 or M3) remains the best of that series.

Eaglerest: So at least there's 2 of us that have bought one of these!

I like your spec: I went for the 30d Msport too, but in Space Grey (as my current 35d X5 Msport is a dark blue one very like the Carbon Black). I also had a 5 series in Carbon black a few years ago and i think it's a greal colour.

I too went with the Harman Kardon, Pano, Sun protection glass and connected drive, but my budget didnt run to the Driving Assistant Plus with TJA :( I did get the surround view and reversing Assistant camera which I presume are included in the DAP package?)

Apart from that I added heated seats (is the cold weather pack heated seats plus steering wheel, or do you get to pre-heat the interior too?) and enhanced bluetooth.

I thought about the 3rd row seating but as we have  a dog who is often in the boot we actually use the underfloor area for storage quite a lot. Otherwise things put in the boot get chewed!

On the plus side, mine has arrived at the Dealers and I'm getting it this Saturday! Pics will be posted! :camera:
Current: M50i arctic grey (G05)
Previous: RRS P400 HST, F15 M50d,F15 30d Msport, E70 35d Msport, 530i, Boxster, 330Ci Sport Vectra GSi, Chevrolet Lumina, Vxl Astras

It'll be allright in the end. If it isn't allright it isn't the end

Nice, will look forward to seeing the pics! Space Grey is a classy colour.

I've changed my spec to include the Reversing Camera and Comfort Access. The camera's don't appear to be included in the DAP pack in the UK market, but they are in the US which is strange. Maybe they pay more for their DAP pack?

The cold weather pack is heated seats front and rear, plus heated steering wheel.

Active Safety Pack includes Dynamic Safety, Lane Change Warning System and folding mirrors. When combined with DAP you get lane stray warning, ACC + Traffic Jam Assistant.

US spec often just has a few packs and few other options, whereas we get a lot of separate options and different 'packs'.  Because we have the company car tax system BMW allow a much greater variation of toys..... :)

Ah makes sense, thanks.

The DAP pack would be amazing value if it included the surround camera's .

Sounds a nice spec.

8 to 10% is available if you ask in the right places, makes quite a difference on such an expensive car.
