That side image is awful. The wheels look tiny and it just looks like a massive body shell on top of some wheels ...  :'(

Looks very similar so the changes must be in the chassis and suspension, and maybe different materials.

More pics - including the wing slot with no guards.....

The Dealer believes that the aerodynamics will keep it clean and the leading edges inside are untainted rough finish plastic trim.  He also suggested that as UK roads are used for testing now that BMW will have spotted this.  Only time will tell.  It may also require OEM approved tyres to be used if you want any warranty work covered for the duration of the warranty - and any extension.

have too agree with 535d, looks especially shite on them wheels!,  also i hate ///M badges on the non proper M models, bmw must let people stick these rear m badges on anything with wheels at the factory now the amount of new cars that have them

Aerodynamics may help once at speed but at lower speeds may still be an issue.

Did you drive that white car on wet roads for any distance to ascertain if there is an issue.

thanks for that 'This X5’s styling has been toned down noticeably over the aggressive look of the second-generation model and – although a subjective call – we don’t think it looks as good' says it all..

Short run on a dual carriageway and 50/30mph.....and it was raining.  That was the dirt trace left afterwards.

I noticed that they are all shod with Pirelli RFT tyres now.  I wonder if that is part of the ride improvement?  My winter set are Pirelli (albeit on 19" wheels which is also significant) and they are a better ride than the Dunlop Summer set, or any Bridgestones I have previously driven.

It seems 'proper' M cars now have to have blinged up badging covering the whole bootlid instead......
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

I really don't like it. Too much metal and plastic between the rear wheels and the end of the bumper.
