F15 3.0d M Sport test drive

Had a good 45mins yesterday in the new X5.

On startup I was immediately impressed with how much quieter and refined the new car is. Pulling away confirmed this especially with the 8 speed auto. Good mix of driving and my particular interest was to try and compare the 3.0d with my current 35d. It does drive very nicely, decent power but think if I was buying it would have to be the 40d as I would miss the second turbo.

Lookswise its maybe not as striking as the E70, the car I had was black with 19" wheels, so would like to see a lighter colour with 20s as any whites I have seen in pics look great. Waiting on some numbers now to probably blow the dream.

I would assume the RR and RRS would also be very refined.  I haven't been in either in ten years but was in a basic two year old Disco last week and was taken by its refinement.

The RRS we test drove over the weekend was noticeably more refined than the E70 40d we have now. Not as brutal but still well worked out and put together.
