How comes there are two consumption reading on the satnav unit?

You can use one for long term consumption average over several months, and the other for individual trips, or driving styles, say if you want a blast in the country, to see how much difference a heavy foot can cause, a lot of cars have a real time average that gives second to second usage, and an average MPG that evens it all out over time
