One of my sidelights (referred to as park lights on the on board computer) failed. The angel eye halo as it is apparently called. I wasn't sure exactly what I needed anyway I went into Halfords and a very nice young man said that the part was expensive from BMW around £50 because the bulb was inside a fixed case. He showed me the case. He said by warming up two metal points on the case the bulb could be got to and replaced with a £4 halfords bulb that he filed one contact point down slightly.
All done in about 10 minutes 4 quid bulb 8 quid to do it job done for £12

Not quite £50 though ...
