Sy, I would say for sure try for new items due to the circumstances, but as stated, they are not under obligation to provide as such. If you are not getting anywhere with the dealer (have you tried the dealer principle?), then go through BMW GB. I'm sure the result will work out.

As for experiences, I have bought nearly every car I've owned from a distance greater than at least 100 miles away. And plenty have been from main dealers and I can gladly say I've always had a very good experience with all of them (including after sales too). I've done the deal over the phone including a decent discount on most and have been pleased with the outcome. My 530d had a little paint peel on one of the alloys a few weeks after ownership and the dealers gladly paid for me to get it refurbed properly by a local refurbishers, with no quibble. Even got them to spray a set of genuine M5 mirrors I bought for it for a very cheap price and they covered the shipping back to me.

Maybe I have been fortunate with all my experiences but maybe it's because I am a nice person…..LOL.

I've bought used AUC cars from the main dealer 4 times. this has been the only negative experience. Sometimes the sale reps are muppets, but their attitude has always been first class so you can ignore that.
Here the attitude has been somewhat amiss....

Good result. Glad they added some goodwill because of their nonsense - you would not have been entitled in law to brand new sat nav disc or load cover, but its a great result to have a brand new disc instead of the one that should have been with your car!  Hope the enjoyment can begin now!

Yes....exactly...I messaged Dinan this morning about whether they can resurrect their S2 package for the 4.8is. (although I can't tell from google if it was just the 4.6 or not) If they can, I'm going to speak to BMW GB about whether they can honor the warranty on the basis that it does not invalidate the US warranty. Unlikely, but no harm in asking.

It went to the business manager, and he sorted everything out. He judged the case on its merits. Top bloke, can't say more than that. A carefully worded email and the Supagard arriving in the DPs office may have been a factor as well.

That's excellent news Sy. Glad all resolved for you.

When you escalate it to the DP (or the franchise manager for the whole group in one of my cases … lol) it's amazing what they will do to finally resolve an issue.

The Alpina's are still waiting for you LOL
