Is the OBC coded ?

Post by J8NWK » Fri Nov 01, 2013 4:25 pm

Hey guys, cracking forum !

A quick one for you, I've just bought an 06 diesel sport and will be fitting the genuine BMW aux-in kit this weekend, to do that I need to slide out the OBC, I've seen the how to that shows which fuses to remove to do that and that all seems fine, what I'm not sure about is will I need a code to restart the unit when I've got power back ?

Thanks

Jon

I've had a few of these out of a number of different BMW's, including the X5. and never had to code anything.

Hi all
Sorry to jump the thread but I had my instrument cluster out to fit some chrome rings and I couldn't separate the cluster as someone previously had tried and mangled all the locking clips bar the central one!!!

Does anyone know of a way of separating this - maybe replacing the locking clips???

Oh and to answer the OP no problems on re connecting it only clock reset was needed...
