Reverse camera

Just bought an X5 and it doesn't have a reverse camera. Is it possible to have one fitted as it would be in the factory ?

Use this:

The camera's are crap anyway because as soon as you drive the car they become covered in dirt and difficult to distinguish between dirt and an obstacle.

Yes there is a retrofit kit. Just don't expect it to be cheap! BMW Retrofit kits never are.

You need to have rear PDC, TV Function and Pro Nav fitted (508, 601 & 609 are the option numbers).

I have the all round cameras and they too get filthy, but I carry a cloth in the car. The X6 has dreadful rear vision so the camera is actually essential...

Do yours switch from top down to rear view randomly? Mine do.

Sometimes it stays on rear view when I select reverse, other times it goes back to top down and i have to change it back. Annoying.

Nope. Can't say I have ever had that happen (yet).

I love my x5 however, the reverse cam is shocking! Had a mitsubishi outlander before and it was really good... Don't even bother using mine at night as can't really see anything, if it's expensive to add to your car I wouldn't bother... My opinion obviously

The only cameras ie on my old one weren't great, particularly at night

They do seem to have got better though
