That's me stalking my business partner!  we've got two as Co cars & the TT is wifes.    What alloys have you got on your RS4?  The rotors are the only wheel that look any good on the Audi's,  imo.

I used to have the opinion TT's were bent, and they are in comparison to a 997 - thing is you can slap 20K miles on a TT in  a year & not lose too much, or just pay the excess miles........... do the same mileage  on a 997 / 991 & you'll get shafted.  Even bus contract hire deals on the 991 / 997 are hefty due to what's considered 'Average' Porcshe mileage, and that's 5K per year!

I know, I''m not though.  I like the TT & the wifes loves it, I can't help but feel a bit of a nonce driving it though. If it was black or grey I'd get away with it......  Scuba is a bit poncy.  Lovely car though & I'll enjoy borrowing it now & again

At least with those RS4 specific alloys the car can't be mistaken for an A4 TDI Blk Ed, unlike if the rotors were fitted. Is that Scuba? as per the wifes TT? )

I just personally wished Audis weren't so dull to drive though...they are very nice to look at & have arguably the best interior of the German marques but the fact that they just don't excite in the driving department is my biggest bugbear.

I really want to love Audi as a brand but they just leave me cold & I blame the VW/Skoda/Seat link & when you consider it...it's pretty obvious why Audis are ordinary & it's not rocket science why not make just one great marque rather than several ordinary ones.

Obviously it's nowhere near as fast as my e70 X5 ..... but the interior is nicer as you say.  In comparison to the 320D Touring it's on a par I'd say. Both as dull to drive  as each other, 320 has way better economy though.    I wouldn't be inspired to spend a huge chunk on the RS range & would definitely look at C63 or the M's.    The A4 is about as dull as any 2.0TDI, it just looks prettier.  It;s nice for & change BMW are boring at present

A friend has a A6 2.0TDI a 13 plate model & it's a lovely thing in my eyes I love the looks & interior but I just know if I got behind the wheel I would be left feeling disappointed. We thought we would dip our toes into an Audi & they do what they say on the tin but nothing more.

I would love to try a RS4 or R8 as they always get the plaudits.

I would be inclined to agree as a rule audis don't make exciting cars to drive

I used to quite like mrs v6 mk 2 TT but after we bought the Porsche you realise how un-exciting they are actually to drive enthusiastically. It's a nice place to be and comfortable (I've clearly not got the super million way adjustment seats in the Porsche set up right yet after 18monyhs ) but I'd say the TT was more comfortable

The ride on the Porsche, despite having 20" rims, is far better than the TT

The RS4 is a good car but you have to work with it as opposed to assuming you can just hoon it everywhere. The trick rear diff takes some getting used to but does eliminate understeer and bring on oversteer to help get around the corners. The steering is shocking really but to be fair I have two of the best handling / feel cars available so I am spoilt so I would imagine most drivers wouldn't complain too much.

The r8 is a lovely car but if I wanted that class if car I hate to say it but it would be a 911 gt3 and I hate Porsche badges.

The rest of the Audi range leaves me cold but then to be fair so do the new F range of BMWs, including the M5/6.

But your talking about a totally different cars here.  A derv burner Audi A4 or 3 Series / 5 Series are never going to be exciting, they're all much of a muchness.  I can't tell the difference between the A4 I have now & the 320d which has just been returned.  The only way to get a fun drive is to buy a hot hatch.

The C2S is the best car I've owned... fantastic ride on 20's & pure premier class, but that's a drivers car.  Agree on the R8, wouldn't consider that at all.   

I think the game changes when you move up to 3.0 / 6 diesels whether it be BMW / Merc or Audi...... that 'six' is really noticable mid-range in diesels, you just don't get it with 2.0 / 4's TDI which run out of grunt.

Really unsure what to go for when the E70 goes back, uninspired by all BMW's, don't like the Cayenne / ML & certainly won't look at RRS being 25K more expensive then the last model!

I was as much replying to lee4.8s comments about audis not being that fun to drive.

I thought the E9x BMW was a much more rewarding drive than the equivalent audi.
