New E83 X3 owner

Hi All,

Just bought a 2006 (56) facelift X3 2.0d SE 150

It has half leather interior with 42k miles.

Parts I want to fit:

Genuine mats and mud flaps
Bluetooth system like a Parrot
Detachable towbar
18" or 19" alloys?

Hi and welcome - car looks very smart . Consider ride quality before changing wheels , maybe consider test driving another se of same vintage with bigger rims before changing same.

Mine is a manual, and I will get a test drive in another X3 to ascertain ride quality.

No I still have the Corvette as my weekend drive.

I used to own one of these.....nice.
The E83 is great car, but there's a few things to keep an eye on.

The E83 is very fussy about tyres, and hates economy brands, so to avoid a clunking transfer box, always fit matching 'Star Rated' tyres.

On some cars the rear window wash plumbing can spring a leak in footwells. 

Also the rear shock springs can break, but they are easy and cheap to replace.

Now get it remapped, as the 2.0d responds really well to remapping, giving much improved MPG, power and torque, and transforms the way it drives.

It has 4x Pirelli Scorpion tyres fitted

Mine has just done this today.

This is a possibility but don't want black smoke. My Golf 170 had the DPF removed and remapped to 220bhp (supposedly) and it was rapid but the black smoke was quite worrying.

I had mine remapped to 180bhp, which was quite conservative. No smoke, but lots of extra driveability and fuel economy. Well worth the £150 for the remap.

I have used a vax carpet cleaner to suck out most of the water (surface) and have notified the garage where I bought it from.
It is going to them on Monday for them to fix.
