As said it does depend a lot upon the dealer. I've always had quite decently provide motors given by the dealer.

Hmm seems like the dealers around my neck of the woods are all Mini and 1 series fans as been driving BMW's since 2000 but have never been given anything else....

OP - Did you manage to sell your car - has the RRS arrived? Would be good to hear from you.....

The OP will be very lucky if he's taken delivery of a new RRS in that timeframe.  But he'll have pick of the bunch on the late model, so it would be interesting to see which way he goes... 

I have no doubt the RRS will be more comfortable, and the cabin looks far more luxurious to that of the rather baron look of the X5 (and most BMW's actually).  But I kind of like the sparse interiors on the BMW's, and yes the ride is hard, especially for a car of this ilk - but I also like the way it drives like a car.  Can't have it all I suppose.
