Bit of a wierd question!!!
Bit of a wierd question!!!
Hi all
Got a bit of a wierd one here!!
I have an e53 sport with cream/ivory leather and to complement this it has the same colour seatbelts which with the passage of time have become grubby and don't look good.
I have tried to clean them but it hasn't made a difference..
I don't really want to taking things apart and replacing them so I was wondering if anyone knew of a suitable dye or similar I could use to make them black??
Cheers!!

Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
Check out classic car websites - the people who do Liquid Leather also do dye. Coach trimmer job not a DIY (please!!)
Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
Alternatively, have a look on Detailing World as no doubt someone has figured a way to clean the belts.
I have the same problem by the way and it's really annoying.

Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
I once had a E38 740i that had the cream leather interior with the cream coloured seat belts and they were absolutely manky when i bought it. I used normal fairy liquid mixed with hot water and it brought them up really nice, some of the more stubborn stains wouldn't come out but it made them hardly noticeable.
Worth a shot, not a perfect fix but makes the best of a bad colour combination.

Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
Just use an all purpose cleaner (APC) from the people who do bilberry, who's name I forget. Dilute it and scrub.
Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
Bilberry = Valet Pro. Just happen to have some on my detailing shelf

Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
That's the company! I should remember. I used to be a reseller! Haha.
Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
Would one of those Karcher steam cleaners work?

Re: Bit of a wierd question!!!
Tbh APC should work a treat, otherwise try the fairy idea as again can't see why it wouldn't work.
