Update on repairs.

Hi again,

Update on my previous post about costly repairs.
The initial invoice as stated earlier was to investigate the auxilary heater not working , replace a defective PAS pipe & one CV boot.
This came to £ 566.47.
Second visit to have other CV boot replaced was £ 171.40
Been back today for third time to have auxilary heater replaced at £ 810.46

So total in last month comes to £ 1548.33
All carried out at local indy.

Good news is Warranty Direct have authorized payment on second & third invoice & I am hoping they will also pay the first.
I contacted them about it the night before via a form on their website which stated ''someone would contact you shortly'' I heard nothing Thursday morning & as we needed the car back for Friday I asked the garage to go ahead with the repairs which needed to be done anyway.
Still had no call by Friday afternoon so I rang them. When I said I had paid the initial invoice ( couldn't take my car without paying ) they said they would not authorize work already carried out, I explained I had requested this but had heard nothing hence my call he said he would make some notes & to put claim in once all work was complete & it would be considered.
Only thing I need to check is my remote start mod ( thanks to X5 Drivers ) the mechanic said he didn't want to leave it connected as it was not a proper BMW accessory so he cut off the cable. I've re-connected it but it didn't fire up when relay was energized, I'm hopin this was due to the car being hot ?
Will let you know how I get on.
The X5 is the first second hand car I've bought a warranty for & I'm so glad I did

P.S. I was wondering today how many X5's are on the road with an auxilary heater that isn't working & just don't realize ?
Car runs fine without it but my wife has just come back & said the car seemed to get warm much quicker than it has been so it is noticable & must be much better for the engine ?

That's fantastic news about the warranty paying out and fingers crossed for the first one as fairs fair you did try to contact them on at least a couple of occasions.

I've had both CV boots done, full replacement for my auxiliary heater, radio module and motor in auto fold mirrors all under AUC warranty.

I used warranty direct for my landrover and they did pay out but even that was a fight and not for the full amount so yours sounds like good news to me

They paid out for my 6sp auto gearbox rebuild which saved me a fortune. No argument at all. Took over the job from BMW - who wanted nearly £10k to change it and it's Mechatronics module - and got it sorted.

Only car I have ever bought a warranty on, and I'm damned glad I did too.
