Is now a good time to sell?

Post by Jalf » Sun Sep 29, 2013 5:34 am

With the new X5 out or almost out the next X6 can't be too far behind, I've been thinking about selling mine but I've got no idea how much it's worth or where to sell it, has anyone got any experience of autotrader selling? Or suggestions of anywhere else?

I tried autotrader a couple of times with no joy. Spent more time listening to companies telling me they had buyers lined up waiting for my car!  And the cost for our service, only £89.95 sir!

Gumtree is an option. Over here in NI the local tv station has a free car sales web site so another option if you have something like that. What I would say is get the car up for sale early as they very rarely sell fast. Use wbac to get an idea of the lowest price out there. You never know, you might just be happy with what wbac offer.

Try looking at AUC cars on the BMW site.  It should at least give you a guide.......even if some of the prices are a little 'optimistic' shall we say.

Think that's the option I'd go for but I might still end up going for a Prius yet!  very odd attraction to them.

Have driven one as a hire car in the states. Truly horrid.

Worth a try in the local paper ! I have bought a few cars that have been local as you can check with the dealer if they have been serviced properly .
