Being able to compare two facelift X5 E53s from cold (well this week) it is apparent that the wife's 05 plate has more oomph than mine
I wafty mode...that's to say between 1.5 and 2k they feel quite comparable when warm although the wife's edges it but from cold the difference is quite noticeable
Of the drive the wife's can be pushed (in the gentlest sense) without any feeling of a dead or flat acceleration between 1.5 and 2.5 k
Mine goes DEAD or DEAD ish and the progess dropping off as you get to 2k. It doesn't stop accelerating....just not as much
On both I can hear the turbo
Has hers been re-mapped or would you suspect anthing else? The pipe coming from the bomb shaped reservoir thing going to the turbo is connected...could it be down to this or poor vacum affecting the turbo?
ps....cold or HOT if I stamp on the brake many times at standstill (presumably drawing a vacum) the engine can a mild brief shudder

My wifes Alfa had sticking EGR valves, so that might be the problem if they are fitted

would that rob it of power somehow?
I was thinking it may be one of the parts here at fault?

I can feel suction on one end of that acumulator but certainly not in the Dyson power range....a bit piddly really
I can see the pipes that go to either end....but ceratinly not where they originate from or to
