You could try very gently bending the arm to make better contact with the glass, or the pressure spring may be soft.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Almost certainly the pivot arms needing cleaned (prevents the arm pressing the blade against the screen properly) - comes up on here regularly - go to Search then type in rear wiper arm, read the posts and you will find the answer you need ...... and unless your blade needed changing anyway then keep the old one as a spare as there probably wasn't anything wrong with it

I ended up replacing the whole arm.... seemed easier in the end!

Lubricating the pivot worked for me and only took a few seconds.
