OK back on topic, and some months later..........

I'm about to fit a Roadhawk HD into the X6 and just wondered if any of the E70 crew know if there is a switched live in the front overhead switch panel?  If there is then it will save a lot of work trying to get into the dash to find one.  The 12v socket it already in use, although I could split the power to two items - both draw less than 2A between them.

In due course I'll fit a Roadhawk Ride 'bullet cam' into the rear too but that may be easier for power as there is power behind the rear panels, or I can use one of the 12v sockets.

There should be one for the sunroof if you have it fitted?

I still haven't got round to fitting the Black Vue I bought off our resident Trilby man...

Cheers Raj.  I did look at the Blackvue but the 400 & 500 models seem to have overheating issues and the 500 image quality seems a little 'low' for a 'HD' recorder due to the data rate being too low (there is a hack to get it up to 10Mbps from 7Mbps.  Decent HD runs at 24Mbps or better).

Now just to get into the overhead panel..........

I got the BlackVue 500W for the aston though yet to save up enough to afford to pay for the hard wiring.

My Drift Ghost HD has a looping facility and can also be helmet mounted for various outdoor activities, I use mine for karting and skiing too.

Oh and its waterproof to 5 metres.
