What a Difference an Inch makes.

Post by Don Coffey » Fri Sep 13, 2013 5:59 pm

Hi All,

Well finally had enough of getting home feeling like I've just completed a spin cycle in the washing machine, so the 20"s are off and replaced with X6 19"s.  an amazing difference.  They might not look the best but the rides transformed.

255/50/19s all round.  The tyres have a block tread pattern but not dedicated winters.

Has that affected the handling at all - apart from keeping your fillings in place?  The standard set-up is staggered, hence the question.....

Handling seems fine although I haven't put the car through its paces as such.  Other than wheel size, this is the same set up I had with the winters and no issues.

These are OEM wheels for the Non dynamic optioned cars.

So was the balance out on the 20s then?

Nothing to do with the balance (which was fine), the mix of very poor roads, run flats and 20"s equals very uncomfortable ride.  Don't get me wrong, but for the roads around where I live, I wouldn't have considered this swap as the 20"s are great on normal quality roads.

Why didn't you try non-RFTs? I'm going to lose mine, or trade for a new RRS...
