Re: Sureterm Direct Insurance refund
registered so i could comment on this
my initial instinct was that this was a scam - wrong logo, wrong telephone number, the fact that this was 3 cars ago and we've moved twice!
but, i called sureterm direct on the freephone number listed on their website. they confirmed it was not a scam and transferred me (saving me the cost of calling a premium rate number).
so, i now am confident this is no scam
how they got our current address when we are not on the extended electorol roll is, however, very concerning - the chap on the phone had no clue - presume they must have gone via DVLA to obtain details of an address matching a car owned by us that matches the registration on the policy...tad far fetched perhaps, but don't have a clue how else they'd be able to contact us
either way cheque is on the way or this one heck of scam involving an insurance company too...time will tell

Having once been covered by rules allowing me to be invisible on the voters lists too, that only applies to the Public Extracts and certain bodies can still find the details if they have 'reasonable cause', that's not to say that even then it was easy. Same with vehicle reg's, though I did enjoy being on the 'blocked' list for 24 years.....came in handy on occasions..
Some Gov't Databases all talk to each other too - as you no doubt know. Still sounds a little odd and your DVLA history may not be too far off the mark, or even a MIB database perhaps?

let us know when you get the money! also watch your credit cards, debit cards etc.. it just might be sureterm might be doing some refunds. some scammers could have got wind of this and might be earning some money as well! for instance, people reading this post mgiht be less suspicious knowing some ppl have received refunds - perfect oppty for scammers too!

Re: Sureterm Direct Insurance refund
i certainly will!
all i can say, is i went direct via the number for sureterm i do trust (0800 one taken off their main website) and was directed by them...time will tell but i'll photo it when (or if) it arrives
i'd always tell people to go the source first - had sureterm not known about it or had not redirected me from customer services i'd have walked...free money just isn't free normally!
