Finally some pics of my new motor

Post by jas328sport » Sun Nov 21, 2010 3:30 pm

Finally had time to give her a quick wash and take a few pics before it started to rain
Getting on really well and i am very pleased although the constant droning from the exhaust is starting to grate  then of course i have the even louder constant groaning of the missus and kids about how "compact" it is

As for the interior, not exactly spacious and the boot is best described as pathetic due to the 4 wheel drive system taking up so much of it.

Performance is superb and makes me feel like a teenager again, very addictive and definately need to keep an eye out for the boys in blue as it is just too tempting to floor it if only to hear the soundtrack :driving:

Lovely looking bit of kit that mate  i really like the look/presence of the r32....must be a hell of a different drive to the x mind  it must be like driving a go cart after that! It reminds me of my vr6....great memories with that car :D

A go cart is certainly not a bad description apart from a go cart is probably quieter
It is absolutely nothing like my old vr6 though as i always found that quite a lazy underpowered soft drive whereas this thing couldnt be more different in fact this thing actually feels a bit mad :driving:

I wish i had pics of some of my previous cars especially my old e30 325i sport, i also had an e36 328i sport, and 330i sport's in both coupe and touring.
My old vr6 was a lovely motor and one of the last on a 98R but was let down by being fairly low spec with no leather or air con but on the plus side it was absolutely mint. I was actually quite surprised when i washed the R yesterday as the first wash is usually when you find all the blemishes that you missed before buying and i have to say that i was really pleased as it is in fantastic condition and looks much better in the flesh than in pics. Another plus is that i took a nice steady drive with the family yesterday on a trip that would have seen no more than 19mpg in the X and the R was showing 27mpg although the exhaust drone was bloody irritating
I would never slag the X off as it was a lovely luxurious motor and were it not for running costs then we would still have it although i have to admit that the R does make me feel much younger :driving:

Mmm. Used to have an E39 525 in a stunning blue with those spoked wheels. Felt beutifully built - certainly more so than the E60 I got later.
Ah well.

Well that didn't last long as I have just agreed to px it against a focus st-2.
I just couldn't stand her moaning about the size, noise, ride quality any more. The focus definitely isn't as quick or exciting but I am sure a remap will sort that out, it is however more spacious and much quieter inside and much easier to drive.

bizarre!! im currently thinking of one of these, they are such good used buys!!! mileage of 30,000 you are only looking at 7 to 8 k topps!!! great cars!! its either one of these or an e46 m3 with higher mileage (manual) but risk vanos issues etc, plus the ford is fairly robust!!!! nice car and colour!!
