Beefed up stock stereo (DSP system)

Post by dpbayly » Sun Aug 25, 2013 4:58 pm

I've never been that impressed with the stock stereo even though its the dsp set up its lacking bass im not talking window rattling bass just a bit more depth.

So I removed the stock subs and wired in an external amp and sub and im very happy its turned down as low as it goes and its perfect, takes up a little more room than I would have liked but I had the Alpine sub and amp kicking about in my shed so cost nothing.

The space issue isn't as bad as I've made it quick release.

It's a Bank Holiday weekend and your bored I can tell as you have started modding the car again!!!

Serious note: A friend had a Bose base tube (about 8" dia and 24" long) fitted behind the seats on his E55 Estate it took up a lot less space than your box and worked really well, you would just have to find a place to hide the amp then.
