Connected Apps need a CIC idrive made after April 2011.  You will have the CCC type iDrive.

If you have a USB port then the iPod should work.  I don't think that audio over Bluetooth was supported in 2007.

Is there no better way to ntegrate ipod/phone- i use gateway in my z.  Does the bluetooth allow you to search etc via idrive?
The car in question has enhanced bluetooth.

My 2011 X6 was made not long after the 'Y' cable stopped being needed and via bluetooth I still can't search the ipod/iphone.  I can do everything via the USB connector.

If you had 'smartphone integration' you might get the full capability but ONLY with the multimedia adapter for the car and those didn't appear until 2011.  That adapter is nearly £200 and does not cover iphone5, or 5th Gen ipods etc with the 'Lightning' connector - no adapter yet available at all for those.

Even on my E53 I had to use a DICE ICE>Link plus to get integration.

BMW offered a retrofit kit for ipod integration but that is expensive and needs coding to the car, or you use the cables here if the right options listed are present.  In 2007 the car won't have a 'Combox' as they only went onto cars from Oct 2010.

Best of luck.

I wouldn't be too bothered about the tax as it's only £3.80 a week extra at the end of the day ;-)

Thanks- already done that- got it taxed, two years warranty, full with fuel and shipped to England- (it's in Belfast as I'm home seeing my family) and about 1k off the car. Good deal as I think they were trying to make up for the booboo the day before! All worked out in the end- got a far better car which I can't wait to get hold of!!
