Panoramic Sunroof

Post by BIG DIN » Wed Aug 21, 2013 7:09 pm

Hi Guys.

The sunroof cover doesnt open with one touch if you have to keep pushing the button back and the slide has stopped working completely. To shut the slide you have to keep pushing the button too and at the end it doesnt stop in the correct position instead it does the half vent thing slightly like when you tilt it with the cover shut.
It tilts and closes ok.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it needs re-initialising.

1.  Press up and hold the tilt/slide button in the tilt position.

2.  Once 'raised/tilt is fully up then hold the button for 20 secs minimum.  The roof will run through a full cycle.

3.  The roof should move briefly in the direction of the button once initialisation is complete.

See this video on an X3 - same procedure works on a number of BMWs.
