hi ive got a x5 e53 2005 3.0d,i ve a squek coming from front o/s/f suspension(well think its suspension) and when I turn turn the wheel to the right ,sound bad when driving down the road and theres a loud squek.
anybody know what this could be.i have notice that there is a split in the gator on inside of wheel.

The gator needs replacing sooner rather than later or you could damage the CV joint. Squeaks and groans from the suspension are normally bushes gone or going leaving these can lead to odd tyre wear. Changing bushes is less expensive than new tyres.

thanks for the reply.sorry for sounding a bit dull,but where are the bushes,will I see them and can I test them before changing them,are there some one the top or just around that gater

I hear people talk about drop arms,is it this you talking about

If you search on here I am sure you will find lots of posts about suspension bushes and maybe "how too's" on changing them.
Here are a couple of drawings from realoem which should help you identify them. Just remember these are big heavy cars so these bushes take a hammering if you do any work on the suspension it's good practice to do both sides at the same time then get the alignment checked.

Years ago I did all these things myself now while I like to understand them I have a reliable Independent BMW specialist locally who did this for me.
Bushes are items 7 & 11 on the Suspension drawing and Drop link is item 7 on the other
