Newbie just landed at planet BMW

Hi all,

We've just bought a 2009 BMW X5 35D M sport in Space Grey with Black leather from our local BMW stealer so now I'm looking to do little projects such as upgrade the angel eyes to LED and possibly change the nav to the CIC system oh and a remap of course

The CIC change has certainly been done, but is not for the faint of heart or light of wallet...... :'(

Finding a decent LED upgrade is harder than it should be too.  There are so many on the market, and too many with photos taken in gloom or half light to make the angel eyes appear brighter.  Nothing matches OEM despite all the hype.

I gave up in the end and fitted MTEC Xenon White H8 bulbs, and they are as bright as the halogen lamps as you would expect, but a blue white instead of yellow.

good luck with the upgrades.

The LEDs should be easy (assuming you have Xenon headlights), my 09 35d has Halogens, as i made the mistake of assuming Xenons were OEM fit on all E70's... :doh:

The lights will always look aftermarket and naff unfortunately.

Mate of mine did the nav upgrade himself on his old E60 M5 without to match hassle but quite expensive he P/ex shortly after for a c63 so will have not got any of his money back on that!!
