Not a myth at all,  unfortunately.  Police confirmed that this has become increasingly common in the last few years.  Crims,  often correctly,  assume that there is a fair amount of very high quality gold in Asian households (usually given as sets for wedding presents etc)

Not been on here much myself due to circusmstances, busy plus both my wife and I have had (and still have) health issues to deal with.

Sorry to read this  - is indeed high in the news around my part of the world relating to Asian families. Never really gave it a thought but I guess it is the same pattern they follow as they do in NL where they look through the papers as deaths are always advertised with funeral details. They use that information to burgle the houses that are then known to be empty of course during the funeral.

Never seizes to amaze me what some people are like.

And of course - a health scare of any type is horrible, wish you luck with that.
