Rear suspension arms 4.4 & 4.8is (will it work)

Post by dpbayly » Thu Jul 11, 2013 11:39 am

Hi all my wife has managed to bend something in the rear suspension one side (long story) no other damage just kicked one of the rear wheels out at the leading edge by about 6-10mm but I cant see what has bent....

I have the opportunity to pick up a complete side lower wishbone both upper arms hub carrier the lot but mine is a 4.4 and it came off a 4.8is did they use the same arms on both if so that's great as I can change the whole lot and be done with it?

Yes it will all fit. They use the same swing arm and hub, etc.

Had a second look on the ramp today at lunch and found the cause of the tracking issue where the hub is bent:

Its the top front arm the straight one, in the pic it's where it connects to the top leading edge of the hub carrier, you can see where its been pulled out and back and the ball joint and steel insert has left an impression on the cast alloy hub and i assume its bent there too.
