Drivers interior door handle

Post by UrbanFlow » Mon Jul 08, 2013 9:30 pm

OK, so I'm being a bit lazy here, but I can't work it out from the microfiches on realoem.com
I want to remove the interior door handle and replace the black handle part as it is chipped/scraped/scratched.
If I remove the silver trim panel are the bolts underneath?
I tried gently prising the plastic silver trim but it felt like it might snap - eek!

Cheers

i had this prob, its basically the rubber paint that is getting scratched - due to ringed fingers, opening the door with the key in hand, etc... i didn't want to replace because with mrs using the car as well i knew it would get damaged agian in no time..

so i took the rest of the rubber paint also off, using t-cut, now it looks like this.

nice and clean and shiny.

Can this be done with the rubber paint on the steering wheel covers?

2 x 10mm nuts secure the door handles to the door cards . Access to these nuts requires
  removal of door card.

Thanks X Man - that's exactly what I suspected.
Removing the door card sounds like a faff.

Luckily Jaynana has just made my day!
I will try T-cutting the little devil!

Thanks peeps. Man I love this site.

just be careful though -

remove the sliver trim first, u can just pull it out, don't rub t-cut on the leather..
