Why didn't I buy a BMW earlier!!

Hello folks, new to the forum and to BMW's as you can probably tell.
Last week I picked up my E53 X5 4.6is and all I can say is WOW!!
Coming from a long line of Landrovers and a brief stink in a VWT5 (worst vehicle I ever owned) I have finally landed in the comfort and refinment zone (and POWER).
Anyway, got the X on the cheap with a couple of little issues that I started working my way through,
so introduction made, I'm off to take advantage of your tech section! See you in there

These cars are really comfortable places to be in and their prices are becoming cheaper as people don't want big engines, but what a car for the money.

Got a parking sensor issue at present, constant beep from rear so ordered a couple of replacements to try. All clicking away but I suspect one is faulty. And the fronts don't do anything atall. Possibly been switched off? I'll have to get one of those scanners if I can find software to work with windows 7 64 bit, I understand it can be a bit tricky.
Gonna have a look at replacing the ribbon for the instrument cluster display since there's a load of dead pixels.
Problems sorted already-
Washer jets not firing, splash of baby sterilising fluid sorted that out
Rear wiper not touching, bit of lube on the joint and get presto.
Rear number plate light not working, ripped it to bits and soldered some wire in place of the corroded tracks.
Got the Bluetooth working, for some reason the code on the unit didn't work but 1234 did? Lucky guess!
Er think that's it, not too bad really for a 10 yr old car and stuff that I can sort out over time as not desperate. Although I hate driving a car that's not 100% but until I win the lottery I'm stuck in the second hand market!
Fitted the bike rack bracket and a load liner for the dog.
