Warranty

Post by squeaky2 » Sat Jun 29, 2013 10:44 am

Hi All.....its warranty renewal time........do i continue with the bmw warranty which doesnt cover wear and tear stuff or do i go for something like the warranty direct policy which does cover wear and tear but is also a little more expensive if i want it to go to the main dealer.

Car is an october 2008 with 48'000 miles but has a lot of toys on it including the adaptive suspension.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was chatting to the service manager at my local stealer (Ocean, Plymouth) about this and his view was that only things which woud be expected to be periodically replaced would be subject to the wear and tear exclusion, such as discs, pads, suspension bushes etc etc. We were specifically talking about wheel bearings and he said they would not come under wear and tear as they should last the life of the car.

He did suggest that I keep the car serviced within the network to maximise the chances of goodwill should something not be covered.
