Glovebox removal

Post by Beemer » Fri Nov 19, 2010 5:00 am

I had a dension interface fitted when i bought the car from the garage , this was for my ipod and also there is a USB connection. The USB was left behind the glovebox and no cable was pulled through for it .I now want to add a USB extension cable so i can plug a in a sick in the glove box .I cant for the life of me get the box out though ,this is after removing all the screws .Does anyone know if i am missing something with the removal of this.

Thanks

Craig

Taken from my Bentley manual:
Remove trim underneath glove compartment.
Open glove compartment, Whilst supporting lid, use small prising tool to poke out retaining pinfrom damper piston at lh side of lid.
Press in rh side of lid to disengage from dashboard and allow glove compartment to hang fully .
Remove glove compartment mounting screws (6).
Disengage glove comp and lower from dashboard, detach elect conns, then lift out glove comp.
NB this for lh drive car so may have to reverse any siding instructions.
Hope this is of help.
