NEW GROUP request for detailing

Post by awj85 » Sun Jun 23, 2013 8:18 pm

just been thinking it would be useful if there was a place where we could just discuss detailing.  i really enjoy making my car look fantastic and also find it really useful to hear other folks opinions with regard to products they use and recommend,  or not.

yeah frequently look at both, but was thinking itwould be good if there was a section on this forum, for X5 owners to discuss products etc

hi chris

To be honest, my initial reaction was also to suggest that there were other forums with the information on (and frankly with much more detail than we could hope to match on Xdrivers); but on reflection I think I would rather take advice from people on this site.  So, for example, if X5Sport said he used a certain product, that would count very highly to me than if half a dozen strangers on another forum recommended it for their Corsas or Clios.  Similarly if 535dboy said that his man Friday used a certain product, that would be one I'd think about too.    In summary, there are voices on this forum whose views are respected by many

If a separate section wasn't created, then I guess awj85 you could hope to establish a "sticky"?

I don't need any more excuses to buy more products  :)) You have seen the pictures of my cupboards full of stuff ...  :-[

Let me discuss internally about this.

benstan - i would rather too personally here from people on here about their recommendations/reviews/products to avoid rather than someone from a much larger forum.  here it is a much smaller personal forum.

pvr - if you have any car detailing products going begging i can PM you my address.  :P

no chance - better money - detailing manufacturers could walk in and shoot themselves an advert for them selves in that garage lol. its a showroom from what ive seen
