Not sure about the E70, but the E53 came with a divider net that could be put into place floor to ceiling either just behing the front ir rear seats.  At a guess that's what 535dboy is referring to also being on the E70.  Yours may be missing?

I bought the genuine metal BMW item, very strong and excellent fit, not cheap at about £140 but I don't want the dog being thrown through the car in an accident and those nets things are only intended for light luggage items.

Hi,

The cargo net is there to stop the mutt poking its head through and potentially ruining the seats/headrests really.
The gap between the top of the headrests and the roof is small. In the E53 it looked larger and I did have the proper dog guard. However given I have a bernesse mountain dog, no net would still work as there is no way that dog will go through the gap ............... :)

Regards,

Nat.
