I've had my X5 3.0 SD since it was new in 2007. It's an SE with Dynamic Pack and 20" wheels.
Like many people I changed the RFT's at the earliest opportunity and since then have been using Vredstein Sessanta. Nothing wrong with the Vredstein's but only don't think the ride is that much better....I remember being slightly underwhelmed at the difference they made to the ride compared to when I changed the RFT's on my old 535d.
My main issue with the X5 is how it handles speed bumps etc (live in London) which my wife's Golf Gti takes better.
So it seems my choices are staying with the Vredstein or going back to RFT's with Dunlop and Bridgestone being the choice. Has RFT technology improved in the last few years? Are there any other tyres to consider?
Thanks!

Thinking of going back to Run Flats
Re: Thinking of going back to Run Flats
Tyres are pretty much the same as they were. Certainly the Dunlop Sportmaxx fitted to my X6 seem to be the same as ever.
The only improvement I found was with the winter set which are 19" RFT Pirelli's. Nothing like as harsh, but then there's more side-wall to flex, even if only a little..
