For those wondering, this is a Combox...part number matches telematics with GPS so I'm guessing I need to change that for a later Mk3 (Media Version) made from 2011.

And this is how mine is wired....USB End

Other end....

There must be a patch cable that BMW make that goes from the blue connector to the centre console.  It's getting at the centre console that has me stumped.  I have got the phone cradle arm out (well unbolted) but that seems to be a pain to get to bits to get at the wiring too!!

Underside of baseplate....

If you go along the OEM route you need a blue 6NR cable, new baseplate with blue HSD and extra connections for FBAS, the FBAS cable, switchable aux socket and the media cradle

The combox firmware can be updated to after 03/11 this allows 6NF/6NR

If you are coding your car here are the latest versions that you may need.

Latest Sp daten files for E-series are V49.3.

V49.4 daten are for later models mainly the F series.

No problem I will post up what I use that works and a list of options that I've coded.

It seems that on E70 many options aren't available as on other models for example on the Hud you can't code the the turn signals but you can code Mhud view?

The version of NCS Expert I use is V 3.1.0 and the INPA is V 5.0.2.

V46 Sp Daten files were used to code all these options excepy I needed V47.1 for the tailgate module.

This works for my 2013 MY 40D Msport.

Here a list of options that I've coded to my car and confirmed working..................Please note DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK i SHALL NOT BE LIABLE IF YOU SCREW UP!!!

TAILGATE BY REMOTE AND BY BUTTON  (HKL Module)

SCH_FBD
      aktiv
SCH_TOEHKI
    aktiv
TASTER_FBD
    aktiv

============================================================

Key fob remote mirror close (FRM -> SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP)

Lock/unlocking chirp

FZD module

QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF===== for locking beep,

QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH=======is for unlocking beep.

  ACOUSTICAL_LOCK_CONFIRM  ------( CIC Module)

============================================================================
This will produce a extra setting in idrive under DOOR section which will require to tick to ACTIVE before the beep for locking/unlocking.

make sure you turn it to aktiv...

============================================================================

V=Digital Speed (you will have to reset the time after)
KOMBI Module
BC_DIGITAL_V
aktiv

============================================================================
Disable windows safety feature FRM (NFRM) TUERAUF_STOP_MAUT (or FH_TUERAUF_STOP_MAUT_3R)

Opening doors will not interrupt window roll up operation.  Normally, if you open a door while the window is automatically rolling up, it will stop the operation.  This feature disables it.

============================================================================

2. To view QMVH (LATERAL-MOMENT DISTRIBUTION REAR AXLE) in BC Stalk
Kombi Module - BC_QMVH_ENABLE    to activ.

============================================================================

Key fob remote mirror close (FRM -> SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP)

============================================================================

Video in motion (For passengers and recreational use)!
Modifying the script in CIC module.

============================================================================
There are more options that I have not included yet as they're not tested working but in due course I shall post up as of when,here are a few;

      Alarm volume increase.

      Rear camera in motion activation.

      Side camera in motion activation.

Hope this helps in any way.

Mpower.  :thumbsup:

Looks interesting.  Simple question, do NCS Expert and INPA need XP or can they be run on a Win7/64 bit (with or without a VM?

Are you north or south end of Herts?

The software will happily run on XP,I have it on my laptop with W7 32bit but I don't think it can run on W7 64 without VM.

Regards to my location I rather not disclose that on here for security reasons, you all would know with high end vechicle thefts thats been happening of late. :)

Thought about that obd mod but worried the implications regarding warranty and the likely damage the thieving scums would do if they can't get the car started.

The latest updates does't allow the obd key cloning on the E70 as it was one of the first models to have the security updates done due to the number of thefts by this way.

Without going into too much detail, the security update isn't very effective it has nothing todo with the actual key cloning procedure just the entry into the vehicle.

It has no implication with the warranty, you can just move it back for the visit to the dealers, some people have put a switch on the wires  this will cause problem with the warranty.

With regards to damage, when they are cloning they don't want to get into the car until the key is cloned otherwise it will trigger the alarm so I very much doubt they will go clambering in the car and start pulling it apart, they will just move onto the next unlucky victim with their port still in place.

I have also known people to fit a dummy port with 12v wired to the data wires so if a thief plugs in their cloning rig goes up in smoke  :)
