Another scanner thread

Post by Mick.H » Tue May 21, 2013 3:26 pm

Hi folks

Just received scanner today and Im getting the IKE and EWS connection errors. After a quick search I got pins 7 and 8 bridged and its still not working properly. Can anyone offer any advice on how to get this to work please?
I did however get a scan on the engine and gearbox fault codes.
Gearbox had a glue error which has been resolved apparently (any ideas what this is?)
And Im getting a cam angle sensor fault.
Again any ideas?  Car drives perfectly, it does have lpg so not sure if that would affect it.

Thanks
Mick

I've had this problem and the only thing I could attribute it to was a duff battery.  If the voltage is too low to give reliable readings, the software just won't let it connect and gives the error you are seeing here.  My low battery voltage was also the cause of the error that I was connecting my scanner to diagnose in the first place.

Thanks for the reply.
Battery was replaced by the previous owner not long ago and it seems tip top. So I don't think thats the issue unfortunately
