Opinion Poll - Black Grills (E87)

So I wanted to finish the look to the wife's 1 Series. After doing the rear lights in the darklines look I wanted to do something with the front too.

Thought the grills could go black but not a fan of the matt black look, so I bought some grills off eBay and painted the surrounds in gloss black with a few coats of lacquer too.

Granted colour of the car has a lot to do with it, don't think I would have done this if the car wasn't black. Just wanted to know what other forum members think of the look (not just a 1 Series)?

i hate chrome, on the grills and on a black car it looks perfect!

I went with OEM I just prefer it to the full black look, but my total fave is the titanium grills & then I like the chrome surround & chrome slats, nothing wrong at all with the full black just my personal preference.

Looks brilliant, always seem to think black BM's with black grills have much more presence about them.

I don't like the OEM looks, and I don't like the total black look. It's a personal choice, its more important to have the look you like.
I prefer the chrome look, but too much chrome can be OTT.
I really liked the job you did on the rear lights though.

If you have high gloss shadow line them no point in having chrome edged grilles.
