Anyone offer any advice on tyres

Post by RiDDO » Mon May 20, 2013 7:52 pm

It's nearly time for a set of rears for my X. I'm running 20" wheels, currently got Bridgestone's fitted, (not run flats). Any of you wise folks offer any advice regarding replacement?
I have no idea what's good, and what's not. The Toyo seemed quite a popular choice at the Cosford meet recently, why?

I've just put a pair of 19" Toyos on the front of my X. Cracking tyre. I've done about 400 miles on them since fitting and can't fault them. Ride is very good. Cornering also very stable.

Got the pair fitted for £300 at my local ProTyre. Discussed tyre choice at length with the mechanic there and was originally I was going for replacement Damaris'. They would have been £450 fitted. It wasn't all about cost. I was concerned the Toyos werent going to be as good but I had nothing to be concerned about. I'd certainly recommend.

I have to stick to RFTs now, but in the past I have used Toyo Proxes STs and they were very good- both performance, value and longevity. Would recommend.
