Took the plunge and bought a set of 22's ***NOW FITTED***

Post by dpbayly » Fri May 17, 2013 9:51 pm

Today spotted a set of cheap 22's I liked they need a bit of a tidy up but I'll be keeping the centres black just refurbing with a fresh coat and also the polished lips (diamond cut) looks good when new but the finish doesn't last so will be painting the lip body colour titan silver,

Picking them up tomorrow morning so no doubt I'll slap them on and drive it as they are for a few weeks and work out what size hub centric spacers I'll be needing, Im fortunate that my brother-in-law owns an engineering company and for my last few motors he's knocked me up what ever size spacers I've needed as freebie's....happy days....

Here's a pic of what they currently look like:

Image

Think they will suit my black and silver theme, there Lenso Titan's size 22 x 9.0 ET 35 so will sit in 3mm on the back and sit 13mm further out on the front compared to my stock wheels so I think I'll running 20mm spacers on the rear and maybe leave the front as is I'll have to see.

Tyres are 285/35/22 so when my speedo reads 30mph I'll actually be doing 30.8mph.

Well I am a bit of a nightmare when it comes to cars..... My X5 is car number 59 in 12 years Ive never written a car off and normally always make a profit as i buy the cars needing work which I do myself at minimal cost then when I sell on I buy another lost cause and the cycle repeats although my last few cars have hung around longer.

That said Ive always wanted an X5 and my wife loves driving it too and combine that with finding out we are expecting are 1st baby only found out last Wednesday and the X5 can easily swallow up all the clobber that goes with the nipper so it looks like its staying and the rush on getting it to look spot on is some what down to the fact that my money will soon just disappear....... Nappies clothes baby food......

You're making good progress with your X5 and I like you solution to the rear diffuser.

I think you will probably have the wheels painted and fitted to your X5 by the end of the weekend, look forward to the photos
