New M Sport Steering wheel?

Post by B1GGM » Thu May 16, 2013 5:16 am

Looking to get myself a new steering wheel, however i have no idea which steering wheels fit as on ebay there seem to be little to no wheels labelled up as fitting the X5 :s I'm assuming e46 wheels will fit as the one currently on my X5 is identical to the one I had on my old e46 coupe.

Does anyone know a decent seller or website I can get an M sport steering wheel from a bit cheaper than the £360 they are asking for this e46 one here?

Cheers

Not sure if the wiring is in place but if it is, and you're changing the wheel anyway, why not go for a heated wheel. Very nice to have in winter.

Not sure about the pre-facelifts but on the facelifts the wiring is there. You'll need a relay to go in above the fusebox and a new steering wheel clock spring.

Personally if you are going to spend that sort of money I'd go with an E46 SMG steering wheel and have those nice paddles to shift through.

Or just get your wheel retrimmed. Can recommend a guy who (if he has one in stock) does a part ex and his workmanship is excellent and his wheels are thicker trimmed.

would he be ok with providing me with a different style wheel to the one I have though? I'd obv pay whatever difference was required.

I currently have the 3 spoke wheel with the 'split' lower spoke like this one ;

but would, like to change to the m sport wheel if possible :)
