In would say a rim of something if you insist on black. Walked past a black Porsche today with black wheels and silver rim. Looked ok.

I always think a silver rim on black looks as if the wheel has been really badly kerbed. (Unless it is a deep dished lip which is polished/ silver)

Fully black is not too bad- as a kid always loved the black cop cars from the original Robocop movie with the black wheels...

May change again soon- depends on how I feel, and as it is only costing me paint materials to have them done!

I get your point.

I'm not too sure about the red rim. As I'm sure you know Audi offer it with the rs3 and I don't like it

Thanks for the replies.

I have got a set of the 258 Alloys that come with the Dynamic package that I bought second hand last year. Wifey wanted me to sell them as they take up too much room, but no-one seems interested in them at the price I want, so I thought of changing the colour and putting them on my car, as they are too like the originals to just put them on. I do fancy the idea of the smoked Chrome, or the Ferric grey.

Will see if I can get some quotes. One recommendation has been Pristine Wheels in Milton Keynes.

Regards

Mark

My X5 came with these wheels on them

I'm not overly keen on them this colour but they are growing on me. Im not a huge fan of black wheels on a black car but I like them on other colours of cars. I had a red Civic Type R with black wheels but the wheels had the red lip. Looked great on that.
