Central Locking....

Post by Jinja » Thu May 02, 2013 3:52 pm

Hi guys

Need a little help or pointers as to what might be the problem I have at the moment with the central locking...

I can't lock the car remotely or with the key in the lock.  The key has no resistance in the lock and turns quite a bit.  I can unlock the boot fine.  When I'm sat in the car I can lock the car with the central locking button and unlock the car with the key (and button), i just can't lock the car with the key.

I've checked all relevant fuses and they are fine, the wipers are fine, noting else is faulty, just unlocking the car.  I've performed a key initialisation but, that didn't work as the car does not respond to it.

Please help as I don't fancy yet another trip to the garage only to be charged for a quick fix I could've performed.

Many thanks in advance :)

Only one key?

If you have another is it the same on both - though it seems odd you can't lock it by turning the key either.

Unfortunately, the battery has run out in the spare key, haven't got around to changing it!
