Recode Check System on Start for SLS error

Post by Dodge » Sun Apr 28, 2013 10:36 am

I have the dreaded Self Levelling Suspension Inactive warning on constantly now after replacing a faulty ride height sensor, it was intermittent prior to this.
The message has now been on for over a month now with no change to ride or handling so I know their are no leaks etc.....
I've read that it is possible to recode the Check System on start up to ignore certain warnings/errors.
I have checked through the functions using BMW 1.4.0 scanner and have confirmed there are no errors present but cannot find where to turn the warnings off?
I may eventually convert to coil overs but I really want to get rid of this error message.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have gone to coilovers and coded out the initial start up heck control for the SLS however if it thinks there is a proper issue still it will still override this unfortunately. Even on mine I have had to leave the ride height sensors and control module in place due to the fact they also provide signals to the DSC, ABS, xenons levelling, etc so you can't remove them altogether without getting he whole thing coded out. This does mean when loaded up in the back for example the warning still pings up as it thinks there is a major issue and overrides the check control.

That sounds at least some part promising, even if it stays off for a month or two at a time, I don't load the car up that often so it shouldn't be an issue. The main question is how to do it, I've looked through the menus and even coded the alarm to beep on close and open, this confirms that the program works. I still cannot find an option to alter the check control function? Any help appreciated.
