DVD on front screen

Post by Timh » Thu Nov 11, 2010 1:30 pm

Hi guys

I am picking up my 2005 x5 sport this afternoon and can't wait!!!

I have a question I have bought monitors from eBay preinstalled in the headrest as others on here have done. I wish to get the DVD on the screen in the dash. How do I do it? I have the tv module fitted and also the av in switches in the rear center console. Do I need a lead??? Compleate newbie to this but I am competent electrically.

Would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks again

Tim

Yes you need something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E46-E39-X5-Z4 ... 5d2bbb7fb6

You unplug one of the leads from the TV module ( not sure which one as its a while ago i did mine ) and then plug this in between. Then connect the video from your video source into the video in plug.
Then at the front monitor set the TV to the AV channel

Not the best explanation I know sorry but it should get you going.

I have a 100gb hard drive/media player playing all my avi files to the front screen.

Here's another option ...... http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/bmw_av.html you will also need to activate tv in motion if you want the option of being able to see the picture whilst driving (for your passenger of course)

If you do get one of these leads make sure it states also for the reverse camera, thats if you have the reverse camera option of course. I had to add an extra connections into the lead that i purchased.
If not i have all the diagrams for the pins/sockets on the TV module if you need them.
