Gluing ceramic
Gluing ceramic
accidently broke an olf cermaic sink which is being used as a flower pot in the garden. anyone suggest any glue which would hold it back together? rather someone recommend a substance before i buy something whoch wouldn't hold it together. )
Re: Gluing ceramic
It's going to be hard to get anything to stick something which is that heavy a material anyway. That's why people make a good living out of restoration jobs. However if you have access to workshop clamps if go for a couple of tubes of sticks like sh*t from screwfix applied generously then clamp the parts together for a couple of days and never try to move it again afterwards!

Re: Gluing ceramic
What about a 2 part epoxy adhesive like areldite? That stuff goes rock hard.

Re: Gluing ceramic
Araldite would have been my suggestion too, or perhaps Gripfill and some supports underneath to help carry the load away from the broken area?

Re: Gluing ceramic
Araldite have a new ceramic and glass 2 part mix out now, Gripfilll is too thick and the joint would go back together properly.
