adjusting sat nav volume
adjusting sat nav volume
I have a 2004 E53 3.0 D Sport X5 - all of a sudden the Sat Nav volume is much louder than it used to be and when I turn down the volume control it goes back up the next time there is an audible command. I've tried going into the SET menu and turning it down to the minimum but it doesn't make any difference. I have a recollection that this happened before and that I need to adjust a TP setting or something like that. Can anyone enlighten me please?
Thanks

Re: adjusting sat nav volume
Hi Sanj
I tried this - but unless I have misinterpreted position 2 on the ignition (and I don't think I have as I have tried several key positions), then absolutlely nothing happens when I press the button sequence as listed
Is there another way to access the TP volume? I thought I had found it last week and tried changing it there but nothing appeared to be different and I cant remember how I got there.

Not done it in a while but thought if you select radio mode and it's playing, then I think it's the top left button????
Will try to check for you later tonight and report back...

Re: adjusting sat nav volume
tried that got various options - TP, TP on/off and TP min ? played around with all of them and got no difference - Sat Nav is still very loud and once you turn it down, when the next command comes along its at full volume again ......??????

Re: adjusting sat nav volume
So when you select Radio mode and it's playing and then you select the Info button you should get this (won't stay up for long):
Scroll down to TP=Min and select it and you should get this (again won't stay up for long):
Mine is set to -4.
Last screenshot is the level my SatNav volume is set to through the Set option in the main menu:
Having said that - not sure the TP volume will have any effect if not set to ON in the first place? ???

Re: adjusting sat nav volume
Hi
I had problems with this before (setting Satnav volume) and it has come back since I disconnected the battery volume last weekend. If the radio is on then the SatNav volume is ok, but if the radio is off the SatNav volume is deafening (2004 E53 3.o D Sport)
TP is on and TP Min is set to -4. Satnav volume (through the SET button on dashboard) is set to minimum but it is still off the scale in terms of high volume. If I turn it down while the sat nav is on the volume does go down but as soon as the next instruction comes through it is over the top again
Any suggestions?

Anyone ?
Re: adjusting sat nav volume
Probably twittering rubbish but thinking out loud so a couple of Q's
If you turn the volume down when the Nav is speaking, does it remember the volume for next time it speaks?
If it remembers, does it forget next time you restart the car?
From memory is there not a setting under the menu options for the Nav volume percentage? What is that set at?

Re: adjusting sat nav volume
the setting for the nav volume is 'min'
when I turn the volume down, it does not remember the volume the next time it speaks - that is my whole issue
