I think if 535 ever admitted to buying the wrong car, the event would be so massive as to rip a hole in our reality and destroy the space-time continuum.

Maybe.

I did - I bought the X5 !!!  :))

We're doomed!

You knew that would be my answer!!!

That's belief and conviction 535, a response to every single point:)

I do like the RS4 out of jokes, audi is my 'second best' brand.. After guess what!

But I hate that baggage it is dragging at the end of it, although it works for u for practical reasons!

Who says sports cars should be practical?? They need to be bloody 2 door! Ok 4 door at max but an estate ONLY??? That's where its a hit and miss by audi and this time its a miss.

As for 4WD.. Hmm.. All that extra weight of extra transmission?? Ok if u r doing rally sports but not on dry tarmac.

Thanks for that Chomps, had seen it elsewhere.

Couple of points

1) the V6 sounds shit compared to the V8
2) It still looks like a reps car without the widened arches and different bumper set up
3) My tuning days of the daily runner are over due to the warranty issues
[/quote]

No problem  :P ;) to be honest I fell across it on PH after looking at something else and was amazed at just what could be achieved  with a few quid spent on the 'S'  :o Clearly, as you buy new always and with warranty issues  a possiblability the 'S' would never have appeared on your radar. But you have to say for a sub £20k purchase + a few quid more, that makes for a barn storming piece of kit.

I did think of 535dboy when I watched this on pistonheads...you still can't beat a good cylinder count though so I think he will be fine  8)

I'm a serial modder and have seen some great results comparing some of my previous toys with ///M cars (get similar comparisons to the link).

I agree straight line speed will massively be improved as was proven but the RS models are about so much more. Just like M cars its about the noise, the feeling and ULTIMATELY the handling. If they had continued that head to head round the rest of Bruntingthorpe you'd have seen a massively different margin than just a few yards.

When I tune a car I deal with the chassis mods firstly to make sure than whatever is done power wise can be put down to the tarmac and cope with it.

Still always good to see what forced induction can do.

Oh and the noise will always win hands down.

Renault?

I'm a power junky (hence both BMWs were remapped) so to have a car that can do hit 60 in low 4s and top 174 and still take the dog is what I need! If I can have two sports cars and a fast wagon for the mundane stuff.

I also like the fact that like snipEz's Md both mine and he is look very understated (well apart from all of his bloody badges!!) and people don't know what they are unless they know the tell tale signs or I start it (where as his still sounds like a tractor!)

I have much more grief with the Porsche despite it costing the same c£65k as the Audi but the Porsche starts at £45k and yet people see the badge and don't like the perceived snobbery behind it. I couldn't give a shit people are poor or rich, I didn't buy the car to show off I bought it because it is currently the best two seater out there

One of the best noises was my E60 M5 with custom CAT back system. The number of times I diverted through the Queensway tunnel in Brum.....LOL

Good post Raj  its always been about the overall package of an M car or RS model they are just engineered so well in terms of handling & 9 times out of 10 have an engine designed specifically for that car...I would love an RS4 very much & the noise alone ticks the boxes for me.  8)
